Dance Recital

Roses and ballerinas were a big hit at my daughter's dance recital. The tag hanging off of the roses was a copy of the admission ticket. I also made solid milk chocolate ballerinas with different colored tutus. The ballerinas in this picture weren't the ones at the recital, they were made for party favors. The roses sold out before the evening show. I hope next year they want to order more!! : )

Quilting

I
said yes to a good friend of mine when she asked if I could make Quilting and Sewing related chocolates when the truth was I had no idea if I really could. What was I going to make and how was I going to make it? She was nice enough to give me a list of items that she as a Quilter uses which was helpful, but how was I going to make these things out of CHOCOLATE?? I was now on a mission to find the perfect molds. Not an easy task but I did find some!!
I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but the Pacifier and Teddy Bear on the Pink Baby Blanket are raised. The Quilt Squares were neat, they are done in blue and pink because I was making baby stuff at the time and had some left over chocolate. I happened upon the Button Lollipop mold by accident, it fit in with the sewing theme so I couldn't pass it up. All these things can be made in most colors. The Spool of Thread is dusted in light blue, to make it look like strands of thread. For some reason I didn't take a picture of the Sewing Machine and Rotary Cutter. I'll have to make more so you can see those too!

Communion Favors

I love to cook. I love to bake. I LOOOOOVE playing with chocolate! Ideally I'd love to have my own successful chocolate shop. Since that's not happening today, and I have to start somewhere, why not my kitchen? I'm always the one who brings dessert and decided to try experimenting with chocolate. I'd bring samples to friends, hoping to get honest opinions and always got rave reviews. After seeing one of my trays, a friend of mine asked if I would make favors for her daughter's 1st Holy Communion. I immediately said yes and then started to sweat! What was I going to make? I didn't have any communion molds, so I searched on line to get some ideas. The lollipops and crosses were what she decided on..... and so it began. In the past year and a half, I've made a few hundred communion favors and find that everyone likes something different, milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate. A few people wanted the crosses dusted, but most just stick to plain. It's chocolate so you can't go wrong either way!
